Grand Jury Hearings
Grand jury hearings are held in private to determine if a prosecutor has adequate evidence to file charges. Defendants are not called to testify at their own grand jury hearing, but witnesses who testify may later find themselves charged with a crime. It is therefore important to consult a qualified criminal defense attorney if you have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury.
